These savory seed crackers are perfectly crisp and flavorful, making them an ideal companion to cheese, dips, or enjoyed on their own (which I prefer). Nutritious and satisfying, they add a delicious crunch to any snack or appetizer spread. Although, they are fragile.
Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 1 hour 40 mins | Serves: 20
Ingredients
¾ cup sunflower seeds
¼ cup flax ceeds
⅓ cup pepitas
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
¾ cups warm water
Instructions
Step 1
Line a shallow 9 x 13 inch baking tray with non-stick baking paper.
Step 2
In a medium bowl place all the seeds, salt, and pepper.
Step 3
Microwave the water until warm. Add the warm water to the seeds mix and set aside for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the water has been absorbed.
Step 4
Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 285 ºF (140 ºC).
Step 5
Spoon the mixture onto the prepared tray. Using an offset spatula or the back of a large spoon, spread the mixture to fit the whole tray.
Step 6
Bake for approximately 60-70 minutes or until the cracker mixture has dried on the top and bottom and is golden and crisp.
Step 7
Cool on the tray, and then break into approximately 20 pieces.
