Take pizza to the next level with this La Regina pizza – a golden puff pastry base topped with rich marinara sauce, melty mozzarella, earthy mushrooms, savory ham, and briny olives. A quick, crispy twist on a classic – perfect for a midweek feast or casual gathering!
Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 35mins | Serves: 6
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup marinara sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup thinly sliced ham
1/4 cup black olives, pitted, sliced or whole
Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2
Roll out the puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Gently score a border around the edges to form a frame, but don’t cut all the way through. This will help create a puffy, crispy crust.
Step 3
Lightly roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases, keeping a rectangular shape. Place the puff pastry on a sheet of parchment paper for easy handling.
Step 4
Spread a layer of my homemade marinara sauce over the center of the puff pastry, leaving the border clear for the crust. Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced mushrooms, thinly sliced ham, and black olives over the sauced area of the puff pastry.
Step 5
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted.
Step 6
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, and slice into squares or rectangles. Serve immediately while the pizza is warm and crispy. Perfect for a quick and delicious dinner or appetizer!
