About Me...
Hello, I’m Sofia Diana Cofrances-Burega. My story begins with a unique family heritage that’s deeply rooted in a love for food and travel. Adopted by my two fathers just before I turned one, I was raised in a vibrant and diverse household. David, my Italian, father grew up in New York. Ironically, he is not much of a cook and prefers us to cook for him (when we don't, it is PB&J's or Hot Dogs all day!) Peter, my Ukrainian father, is the one who infused my life with rich flavors, while my Greek roots added another layer to our culinary tapestry.
Now, you are probably wondering why I use the name Cofrancesco. When David's family moved to America, their name was Cofrancesco but it was anglicized by immigration to Cofrances. So, I have decided to reconnect with the Italian side of my family and bring back the name Cofrancesco.

From an early age, my childhood was filled with the delightful aromas of my father's cooking, alongside cherished recipes from my Babushka's, Olesia Kremin, and her sister Jesicca Tarnopilsky. Our home was a hub of culinary celebration, where parties were abundant with delectable appetizers, elaborate charcuterie boards, flavorful main courses, and, of course, indulgent desserts. My personal favorite was always the Baked Alaska, a true testament to our family’s love for sophisticated yet comforting food. These gatherings highlighted how much I loved food's enchanting ability to bring people together, inspire connection, and create a sense of family.

At the age of 10, I already knew that I loved to cook. In fact, even when my parents were out of the house and I was forbidden to use the stove, I would still find a way to cook. My friend Lucia and I would talk about our shared culinary restrictions and despite our constraints we found joy in making scrambled eggs together. Turning our limited access to the kitchen into a cherished tradition.
Now at the age of 19, I’m thrilled to share my passion for creativity and the art of making people happy through crafting delicious dishes. I’ve moved to one of our many favorite places in the world—a location that will inspire my work every day. This journey is the first step in my lifelong dream of building a business that reflects all of my passions.
